About Us

John Abbott

John has worked in the real estate industry for over 40 years in both Australia and New Zealand. He has personally been involved in the sale of over AU $3.5 billion worth of property. At the age of 19 he was an award winning Sales Consultant, in his early 20’s he was a Branch Manager and by his late 20’s he owned his own boutique agency in the highly competitive inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

From 1997 to 2004 John was the National Sales Manager, National Auctioneer and National Trainer with Bayleys Realty Group in New Zealand. As an Auctioneer he has personally conducted in excess of 18,000 Auctions.

In 2004 John formed Sales Development Group Ltd, to provide training services to the real estate industry throughout Australasia and South East Asia. He mixes a wonderful sense of humour with practical no-nonsense advice.

John has continually worked at the coal face of real estate, having trained over 20,000 salespeople in all facets of the real estate profession.

He is engaged by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand to run numerous training programs including Auctioneer Training, is the Chief Judge of the REINZ New Zealand Auctioneering Championships and Chair of the REINZ Auction Special Interest Group. John has worked with most of Australia and New Zealands major real estate companies and networks.

Heading an investment Sales Team with Professionals Real Estate Group, John is a recipient of a $1.0 billion personal Sales Award.
